YLC’s 29th Annual Orchid Banquet Recap
Every year, Youth Leadership Council (YLC) hosts an annual banquet to honor community leaders who have made a difference in the upbringing of the youth and community.
The theme for the banquet is a chosen flower that’s used to represent important qualities that our leaders in the community portray. For 2017, YLC chose one of the world’s most easily recognized flower that symbolizes magnificence and artful splendor: the Orchid.
On April 7, 2017, we hosted our 29th Annual Orchid Banquet honoring Mr. Duc Dinh, founder of Duc Dinh Tutoring Center & Lend a Hand, Inc. and our YLC Community Impact Award to Mr. Justin Yu, chef and owner of OxheartRestaurant.
These honorees embodied the meanings and sentiments of the Orchid through their unwavering commitment and positive contributions to Asian-Americans and the Houston youth. We celebrated their achievements with student performances from our very own students, Jackie Huynh, Sydney Saupera, and Bethany Ung!
