100% Powered by Volunteers

Everyone from our conference assistants to our mentorsĀ - even the YLC Board – is an unpaid volunteer who whole-heartedly gives their time and energy to YLC. YLC is seeking volunteers to fill crucial roles in the annual conference. No matter where you decide to focus your time, we welcome your involvement.

Conference Assistants

Conference Assistants (CAs) ensure that the conference runs smoothly. CAs help with student check-in, activity setups, photography, and many other important tasks. You must be a high school graduate by June 2010 and over 18 years of age to be a Conference Assistant. You are not required to stay the entire weekend. Please contact the Operations VP (operations [at] ylc [dot] net) if you have any questions.

Mentors

Mentors deliver the YLC program to the students during conference. In addition to being in charge of a group of students during the conference, mentors facilitate discussions with their students and team building activities. You must complete at least one year of college or work experience to become a mentor. College graduates and working professionals are also welcome to apply. Please visit the Become a Mentor page for more information.

Guest Speakers

Guest speakers are leaders in their communities who come to the conference and share their experiences with students. Topics range from leadership experiences to diversity issues to emotional intelligence (EQ) to general health. Speakers are chosen based on their relevance to the conference theme for that year. Please contact our Program Director (program [at] ylc [dot] net) with your ideas.

Applications to become a volunteer for the 2010 YLC Conference are now closed. Thanks to all the volunteers who have applied!
